Hi! My name is Domonique aka Domo. I was born in Athens, TN & lived in Nashville most of my life. I’ve been a runway model for 3 years. I’ve also taken part in various photoshoots, print ads and body art modeling for the part 7 years. I bartend, P.A. and set design as well.
My time as a brand ambassador for The Black Fashion Week continues to be an incomparable learning and growing experience for me as a model and a creative. The progress I’ve made in my walk, poses and confidence since I’ve become apart of the team has surprised me in the best ways.
Being an ambassador has provided a community of beautiful people to network with and learn from as well. The models, designers, and photographers I’ve encountered and been able to work with have been nothing short of amazing! From the many opportunities that TBFW provides to the care about my personal well being….It’s truly a pleasure to work with and for the betterment and rise of THE Black Fashion Week.
Maria- Brand Ambassador
I started at Puerto Rico when I was 13 years old. I remember watching a episode from Tyra Banks ( top model) and telling myself ,I want to be like her when I get old. I was in a Runway show at PR called Couture for a cure, it was a show about gathering money to help women with cancer. That was my first Runway show and I enjoyed every single minute of it. And I decided that I wanted to keep up with it. I considered myself a really positive person and always able to smile no matter the situation. Being a brand ambassador had been one of the best things of my life. I enjoyed everything Runway show every practice. I'm always ready for more and more. Always excited for the next, always with good energy and ready to give my all in the stage. I'm happy and excited to say I am a Brand ambassador from The Black Fashion Week. Happy to know that there is people that believes in me.
Humble Pressure- Brand Ambassador
“As a plus size fashion model, I make it a goal to show up & show out for the plus size model community. But not only that, it’s important to show that there is still beauty in being different. I’ve been modeling since 2011, & I’ve grown in so many ways since starting my career. I got my start in Clarksville, TN with Confident Couture, & have built a career that has gotten me opportunities in Dallas, Atlanta, and even Las Vegas. By the grace of God, I’ve been able to grow as a woman, as a friend, as a sister, and as a model. This growth has allowed me to be in the space of amazing people, with TBFW being at the top of the list. I’m eternally grateful for their inclusiveness, boldness, and creative commitment to stand out amongst the crowd. There’s no where else I would rather be, truly.”
